Stone Harbor Beach Trip

We had a lovely time down at the shore. I grew up going to Stone Harbor for a week in the summer so it was nostalgic to return having not been since I was a teenager. To be honest, not much has really changed about the charming town, which is wonderful to me in an ever-changing world. Stone Harbor is small with only one Main Street full of shops, 5 & 10 store, ice cream parlors, putt-putts, bakeries and small restaurants/cafes. It is really only 4 blocks wide between the ocean and the bay. It was SO great to park the car upon arrival and not need it. We could walk or ride our bikes everywhere...how relaxing.
Hayden had a super time with his cousins and is still asking about them each day. He and Molly (who is also two, but 6 months older) played really well together. They could speak each other's language (or I should say Molly could understand Hayden's language)and would make up little games together which ended with giggles.
Hayden loved the sand instantly and would run and dive and roll around in it (thank heavens for outdoor showers at the beach). It took him up until the last few days to warm up to the ocean...but once he did there was no turning back. Without fear he would run, dive face first and be slapped by the waves.
Ryan joined us for the Labor Day weekend through the last week. We got a few date outings just the two of us which is so refreshing to reconnect as Laura & Ryan.
Overall, it was a very special time which will remain memorable.

Emma is such a good big sister and cousin.

One evening we went to the Wildwood Boardwalk which is about 20 minutes away. Hayden's face says it all...he LOVED the rides. And Ryan was a good sport and squeezed himself onto all the kiddie rides Hayden couldn't go on alone.

If you look carefully you'll see Hayden looking down and smiling.

Hayden and Molly loved to jump into the pool over and over and over again!
