Strawberry Festival

Every year our church has a huge strawberry festival. It is just the best! They have a large band play music on the front lawn, grilled hotdogs/hamburgers, bouncy castles, face painting and of course, LOTS of strawberries. People bake all sorts of cakes which are displayed on tables. You walk through and pick your cake, then get a huge scoop of vanilla ice cream topped off with a mountain of fresh strawberries! Yummy! (unfortunately, it rained last night and was indoors in which some charm is lost)

That was Hayden's first time getting his face painted. Funny thing is he thought he had a dinosaur on his cheek (even though he pointed to the rainbow on the paper). He waited patiently in line for his turn and then sat perfectly still on the chair. Afterwards, I don't think I've ever seen him grin so big!

I volunteered for the last shift in the kitchen with two of my friends. We thought we made quite a statement with our aprons and name tags!

Hayden and I baked a cake from scratch for the festival. He thoroughly enjoyed licking the beater.
