Happy 6th Birthday Logan!
Logan turned 6th on Valentine's day. He has really grown in many ways over this last year. Logan is very bright and has flourished in kindergarten. Logan appreciates doing things the 'right' way. He is quite meticulous and likes routine and predictability.
Logan has always been athletic. This last season of soccer he became aggressive in going after the ball and with great coordination he could dribble around his opponents. Currently, he is playing on a basketball team for the first time and loves it!!! He has a very impressive accurate shot. During his 2nd game he scored 20 points! It has been wonderful to watch him develop as an athlete and to start using defeat in a sport as a motivator.
I think it is Logan's sensitivity which makes him so sweet. He is very empathetic to others. He feels his way through life which means his sorrows really sting but he can light up a room with his infectious joy and excitement! The moment I shared with the boys that Daddy was returning from his deployment Logan immediately began to cry. And again, at the airport, after catching his first glimpse of Daddy in the distance his eyes welled and he turned to me with a sweet smile and buried his face into me for a hug as relief washed over him.
I am convinced Logan's love language is time. He values spending time with those he loves and is happiest when we are all together. I really miss the hour alone we had last year to play board games while Owen napped and before Hayden returned from school.
Birthdays are bittersweet for me; it serves as a reminder for how quickly the years are passing. One of my favorite moments during the day is towards the end of dinner. As soon as Logan has taken his last bite, most nights, he will ask to sit on my lap.
Happy Birthday to our sweet, sensitive, fiercely independent, athletic, stubborn, loving and bright little boy!
