A couple of weeks ago Hayden came out of the preschool room brimming over with excitement; he couldn't wait for me to meet 'Harry!' He had a styrofoam cup filled with soil and grass seeds thrown on the top. On the side of the cup were two googly-eyes (glued a bit cock-eyed...adds character) and a big smile. Soon, the grass would make the hair for Harry.
I was a bit skeptical that anything might grow; he decided Harry needed more water the first day and suddenly all those seeds were floating on top of an inch of water. But, we placed him by a sunny window and in less than a week, he sprouted. Hayden has had such fun watching the grass grow and has been most attentive to ensuring he has water and sunshine (he would like to water Harry about every hour). Perhaps his favorite part though, is giving Harry a haircut every other day! What a fun addition Harry has been to our home!
