Strawberry Festival and Poor Judgement

I took the boys to our church's annual Strawberry Festival. This is an event I always look forward to: visiting with friends, activities for the kids but most importantly, cake toppled with lots of fresh strawberries and dripping with slightly melted vanilla ice cream...yum!!!
They had two different moon bounces set up. One was your traditional which Hayden enjoyed thoroughly. The other had a long line and was very appealing to Hayden because it looked different. Hayden had a helmet strapped on (should have been my first clue that this is not a good idea) and was to run through the moon bounce and try to dodge these large stuffed 'boulders' that were swinging towards him in effort to knock him over. With our long wait in line Hayden had plenty of time to watch the other kids go in and get knocked down and his excitement level only mounted. Well, he came out with his feelings hurt. The whole way home he asked me, while fighting back tears, 'why were the big boys trying to knock me down?' He didn't understand the concept and only saw that they were being 'mean' to him. I should have listened to my gut and skipped this one all together.

Note: i didn't capture any pictures of our dessert...I was too busy indulging!
