Probably most of you have heard about the Black Hawk helicopter that crashed this last week resulting in 11 fatalities. It occurred right here only minutes from our home. I had to drive by the scene twice while running errands and a sense of deep loss hung in the air as dense as the fog which hovers over the water. I have found it hard to not think of their families; their spouses in particular. Although the Marines and Army soldiers were all from out of town it has certainly hit this area hard which is predominately military. Eleven flags grace the front of nearly every commercial establishment in and around the sound. Collectively we mourn their loss and pray for loved ones.
