Yesterday the boys and I went on a leaf hunt around the neighborhood. We collected all sorts of leaves we thought were pretty: solid reds, deep purples, bright yellows and then some in the midst of their color transformation.
Then, today during Logan's nap, Hayden and I preserved the memory by dipping the leaves in hot wax (an idea we got off another blog...must be careful because hot wax is, well HOT!). It was loads of fun and while well supervised, Hayden enjoyed dipping the leaves. We plan to get some clear fishing line and string them for a lovely garland. What a fun way to 'freeze' Autumn time...my favorite!
