When we moved to Ohio Logan started having problems sleeping. He would cry and cry each time we'd put him in his crib and then after finally getting to sleep he would awake in the night upset. We were all getting sleep deprived and my heart would break not able to figure out how we could help. After a couple of weeks of this and reassuring Logan that we are here and that this is home we made two big changes that made the difference.
1. We turned off his nightlight. I wondered if the 'new' shadows scared him or reminded him that he was sleeping in a new place.
2. We put a stuffed animal in his bed. Uncle Ross and Aunt Darci gave him a large monkey (they gave Hayden a large frog 2 years ago who hasn't left his bedside since). He is soft and snuggling with a friendly face. Logan has attached himself to him quickly and lights up when you tell him, 'Monkey is waiting for you.' Thanks Uncle Ross and Aunt Darci for helping us all sleep again.
With Logan's newly acquired climbing skills we now have 2 monkeys in bed.
