Independence Day

Happy 4th of July!

Like most of the east, it was a wet July 4th here, although, by afternoon the rain stopped.  This year Owen was old enough to be more involved.

The boys are at an age where they oooohhh and aaaahhhh over festive details which I find fun to indulge.  So, the day began with star shaped pancakes.

A couple of crafts....

(they made small flags which we attached to a wooden skewer and used as a cake topper--no finished product pic)

Creating a game...

(they are to stack and knock down with a ball--we ran out of time to play today)

Pigs in a blanket and red, white & blue fruit skewers for lunch.

We did a few ground fireworks out front.

Colored smoke

The only thing I like more than watching the fireworks is watching their faces.

Red, white & blue popsicles

We had a bbq dinner with red, white & blue cake for dessert--of course!

Hope you had a 4th filled with family, friends and fun!
