Hayden's birthday party was a bug theme. We reserved the pavilion at our favorite park around the corner. It is covered with a canopy of tall, mature trees which provide the whole park with shade (so rare). There is one piece of climbing equipment and some swings. The main attraction is the meandering creek which anchors the park. It is so scenic. We were SO fortunate on the weather; pure sunshine and no humidity. I couldn't help but reflect on his 4 year old birthday party in NJ, two weeks before we moved. Then, celebrating his 5th in Ohio this year, I was left wondering where will be celebrating his 6th??? To be determined.... It was a relaxed and fun evening! Most importantly, Hayden thoroughly enjoyed himself!
After icing the cake, we covered the top with 'dirt' (crumbled oreos) and 'bugs.'
