Many of you already know that Ryan found out in mid-September that he was going to deploy. The exact departure date wasn't known as plans were fluid. But, he packed his bags and we prepared. I had him complete a 'honey-do' list of chores that are easier to complete with him. For example, installing new smoke detectors, draining fuel from lawn equipment for winter storage, trimming hedges etc. Anticipating the weekends without him I actually wrote down a list of things to do with the boys to keep us all busy.
After having 5 scheduled departure days (two with flights booked) come and go, being turned off the trip at one point and then quickly put back on, several 'last weekends' as a family, happy to report that it seems he will be staying home. In fact, he is going to unpack his bags this weekend.
When he does, he'll discover the note that Hayden hid nearly 6 weeks ago...
So blessed to have this Christmas wish granted and we think about friends who have husband/daddy gone over the holidays.
