Owen had his 18 month wellness appointment this week. Although he will always remain the youngest brother he certainly might not always remain the smallest brother. He continues to maintain the 95% in weight & height (also for head circumferance---for those of you who remember all the concern over his head growth as a newborn)! He is wearing size 8 shoe and 2T clothes.
Owen is at the age where he amazes us (and challenges us) every day! His vocabulary is increasing and for the words he doesn't know he sure is convincing with very elaborate babble puntuated with inflextion and expression. He loves to point to pictures in books and 'explain' what is happening. Owen is great at building towers and is slowly learning a bit of self control when it comes to not knocking down a brother's creation. If he could play outside all day he'd be quite content. While outside he enjoys pushing his lawn mower, kicking a ball, running around with his brothers/neighbors and most of all--blowing bubbles.
Owen is independent! He likes to walk WITHOUT holding a hand. While at times he is agreeable to walk hand-in-hand (which I LOVE) he will mostly throw himself onto the ground in great distress. He tolerates the stroller but would prefer to walk and explore! This makes errands more challenging. He typically snacks the entire grocery shopping trip to keep him contained in the cart. After all, he's always observing his big brothers walking on their own. (While Logan NEVER left my side even as a young toddler, because of Hayden's friendly and explorative nature, we have hope that we will not always be chasing Owen!) :)
Owen is very affectionate; giving the best hugs and (open mouth) kisses around! We all enjoy his silly personality.
