So, I braved the exhaust filled arena this year, with Hayden and Logan, armed with protective headphones to help muffle the noise. It was over Owen's nap time and Ryan warned that it is VERY loud. We thought he may be scared, especially if he was overtired, so he stayed home with a favorite sitter to play with bubbles and have a nap.
The louder the trucks revved their engines the more excited Logan got.
The higher they jumped in the air the bigger his grin. The faster they raced the more he cheered.
Hayden, on the other hand, sat on my lap and turned his head into my chest. He said he was so afraid somebody was going to get hurt. To his credit, the trucks appeared like they were going to tip or flip at times. I tried to assure him that there were strong metal bars to protect the driver even if they did flip. Ironically, he said he had fun and wants to return next year. I'm wondering if it was just more fun with Daddy...next year he can take all three! :)
