The boys and I drove to South Carolina for the first week of summer. It was a wonderful week!
Here are the boys playing with monster trucks down a ramp we created in their yard.
Owen loves to sit with PopPop. Here they were watching baseball.
PopPop gave each boy a Red Sox ball cap. I love this photo!
Always a blessing to visit my Grandparents who live about 40 minutes away in assisted living. Here Owen is asking Great-Grandmom to open a candy wrapper. Upon our arrival Owen was shy and hiding around the corner: nothing like a piece of candy to break the ice. :)
Precious!
My Grandfather asked the boys to help him sort his change. The boys enjoyed this task and were pleasantly surprised at the end when he told them they could keep the change!
A train museum recently opened in Hendersonville. It is only open during Owen's nap time so while my Dad stayed home with him, my mom and I took the big boys.
Per tradition, my parents rented a boat one morning. Owen was super relaxed and would occasionally squeal, "Faster!" Meanwhile, Hayden and Logan were anxious and wanted PopPop to drive slowly (which he really was)
PopPop gave each boy a chance to drive.
We stopped the boat at a pool which is just steps off a dock. Owen and MiMi enjoyed paddling around while the big boys were on a waterslide. (Owen eventually tried the waterslide towards the end and LOVED it)
Owen and PopPop...deck buddies
Hayden lost two teeth on this trip!!!
This view from their house always takes my breath away.
Not pictured are the many games of Chinese Checkers MiMi played with both Hayden and Logan. She taught them both to play and they are getting quite good.
Also, PopPop let the boys play pool by rolling the cue ball to hit the other balls. They had a blast and this ensued the most laughter all week.
There is a walking path in their neighborhood which was perfect for the boys' to ride their scooters around. They also rode them up and down their driveway.
We went to the pool/playground near their house several mornings.
Thanks for the memories MiMi and PopPop!
