Get-Away

My parents kindly offered to watch the boys for a couple of days after Thanksgiving allowing Ryan and I to get away and celebrate our 10 year anniversary.  We chose to just go down the road, about an hour away, to Seaside, FL.  It is a small, quaint beach town.  It's cobblestone streets are lined with bright colored, charming beach homes.  In between the homes are paths lined with white picket fences and covered with a canopy of tree branches.  It really was a lovely place and we appreciated parking our car and just walking everywhere.

We rented a one bedroom cottage

This amphitheater in the center of town has nightly entertainment.

Seaside is located off a scenic route.  A wide path parallels the road and we snapped this on our walk.

One of the many charming streets.

The town does boast a claim to fame; The movie Truman Show was filmed here back in the 90s

The town Christmas tree was lit while we were there, complete with carolers.

This was the book store (below)

We walked to a Christmas market in the next town.  Complete with luminaires and  'snow.'

We are so appreciative for this time to catch our breath and decompress.
