We had some dear friends visit us last week during their spring break. Stephanie and Adam lived three doors down from us in Ohio. Adam turns six this month so he is right in between Hayden and Logan. They used to ride scooters and bikes on the sidewalk between our driveways daily and our families would often get together on the weekends.
It was both overwhelming and humbling to think they spent 4 days in the car just to spend a few days with us. How incredibly special we feel!!
It was a wonderful several days. The boys truly picked up instantly where they left off (first time seeing each other in two years).
Our spring breaks didn't coincide but with some arranging in advance with teachers the boys stayed home from school on Monday to give them one full day together.
We walked the pier in Navarre to watch the fishermen and saw a dolphin jumping over and over!
Then, we got our feet sandy...again...
These two are so compatible! They truly have an endearing mutual affection for each other and played constantly. Logan was in tears after saying good-bye.
While I didn't get a picture of Stephanie and I we had a wonderful visit--such an easy and special friendship. It was great to have the company and help by day. By evening, when the house was quiet, we would chat and catch up over a couple of glasses of chocolate red wine (yes, you read that correctly--heavenly!)
Thank you Stephanie and Adam for making the long drive to see us. We will cherish the memories!
