Swimming!

We have a swim club in our neighborhood that we typically use.  However, we just became members of the YMCA, mainly for the gym/childcare situation, but the boys are most excited about another perk--the pool!  We drive by the Y on our way to and from each soccer practice/game (for a total of 3 seasons).  In fact, there is a stop sign at the corner of the Y property directly next to the pool which boasts two impressive waterslides and some fountains.  You can be assured that without fail, each of the dozens of times we've stopped at that corner, the boys have shared their strong desire to swim there!

In order to slide down the large slides, which spit out into the deep end, you have to pass a swim test.  The test requirements are to swim a lap without stopping followed by treading water for 60 seconds.  Hayden passed the test on his first try.  We are still working with Logan, who thankfully is not overly disappointed, and remained quite a cheerleader for Hayden.  The shallow pool has a beach entry, a small slide, a mushroom waterfall and several sprinklers/fountains, so it does not disappoint!  We had a blast!  I completely forgot to capture a picture of the large slides!!!

The orange wristband indicates that he has passed the swim test.

Hayden showing me how he swims a lap--you can just see his arm coming up out of the water (he passed the test last weekend when Ryan took the big boys).

Owen must have gone down the little slide at least 30 times.
 He loved every minute!
