I had to chuckle when I read the paper from Hayden's teacher describing his upcoming field trip. The theme was very traditional; pumpkin patch. However, Hayden's class bus would take them to the parking lot of Logan's preschool! Farms can't thrive with this sandy soil so I suppose I should applaud the creativity. A section of the parking lot was blocked off and hundreds of pumpkins were trucked in and displayed on pallets.
I should have increased my life insurance policy before this hayride. The truck drove FAST! He was weaving through the field and at one point stopped to make 3 rapid donuts (hello motion sickness). I was truly afraid a kid might bounce out at some point. I was grateful when it was over without incident.
